Mr. James Leo Grobmyer, age 74, of Little Rock, died Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Mr. Grobmyer, born June 12, 1946, in Forrest City, served as an elder for 17 years in the Sandstone Drive Church of Christ in Little Rock. He retired from Arkansas Power and Light in 1986, after 35 years.
Mr. Grobmyer is survived by his wife, Patsy Stewart Grobmyer; two daughters, Julie Goin of Magnolia and Jennye Dulaney of Fayetteville; two brothers, Ed Grobmyer of Arab, Ala. and Bill Grobmyer of Forrest City and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Grobmyer will be Friday, April 20, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Geyer Springs Church of Christ with Ralph Winehold officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Huson Funeral Home.
Mr. James Daryl Ponder, age 33, of Colt, died Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Mr. Ponder was born Jan. 8, 1968, in Fort Sill, Okla. He was the son of James E. and Helen Fleming Ponder. Mr. Ponder lived in Colt most of his life and was a Baptist.
He is survived by a daughter, Miranda Grace Wingfield of Forrest City; his father, James E Ponder of Colt; his mother, Helen Ponder of Jonesboro; maternal grandparents, Murrell and Mary Quinn of Forrest City; a step-brother, Stephen McWilliams of Jonesboro and a step-sister, Gwendolyn Plaz of Jonesboro.
Visitation for Mr. Ponder will be Saturday, April 21, 2001, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Ponder will be Sunday, April 22, 2001, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Loughridge Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hazel Wade, age 86, of Hazen, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Wade, a retired housekeeper, was born July 10, 1914, in Wattensaw, to Walter and Marille Stidham. She is survived by a granddaughter, Glenda K. Jefferson of Texarkana; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wade will be Saturday, April 21, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Prairie Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Oscar Washington Sr. officiating. There will be a visitation preceding the funeral service from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery in Green Grove under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
