Corinne Hurt Bledsoe

Mrs. Corinne Hurt Bledsoe, age 73 of Forrest City, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Memphis.

Mrs. Bledsoe was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Palestine to William Isham and Kate Harris Isham. She lived in Forrest City area all of her life and was retired from South Western Bell. Mrs. Bledsoe was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was past president of the Business and Professional Women's Organization.

She is survived by her husband, Luther W. Bledsoe and two sisters, Marguerite Frost of North Little Rock and Marie Mattioli of Kennesaw, Ga. Mrs. Bledsoe was preceded in death by a son, Perry, Bledsoe in 1971.

Visitation for Mrs. Bledsoe will be Monday, April 30, 2001, at 6:30 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Alice Evelene Thompson

Mrs. Alice Evelene Thompson, age 67, of Widener, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at her home.

Mrs. Thompson was born Aug. 19, 1933 in Round Pond. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by seven sons, Willie Lee Thompson of Whitmore, Tommy Thompson and Walter Lee Thompson of St. Louis, Mo., Louis Thompson of Madison, Freddie James Thompson of Webster, Texas, Stanley Morgan Thompson of Widener and Patrick Lamaris Thompson of Jonesboro; six daughters, Dorothy Rucker and Erma Wonsley, both of St. Louis, Mo., Patricia Brown, Lucynthia Johnson and Sharann Hill, all of Jonesboro and Janet Davis of Widener; four brothers, Samuel Byers of New Haven, Conn., Johnny Byers of Florida; Allen Byers and Anderson Byers, both of Forrest City; two sisters, Ora Lee Cross of Cleveland, Ohio and Louise Simms of Sacremento, Calif.; 41 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at noon, at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Latham officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Johnnie Mae Wilson

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Wilson, age 86, of Colt, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 22, 1914 in Widener. She was a retired seamstress.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by a brother, Chester Bryant, Jr., of Palestine and two sisters, Ottie Mae Roberts of Dallas, Texas and Dollie Mae Bryant of Forrest City.

Visitation for Mrs. Wilson will be Tuesday, May 1, 2001, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Pine Tree Church of God in Christ with the Elder Verlee Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
