Mrs. Maxine Cox Allen died March 13, 2001, at Charleston, R.I.
She grew up in Forrest City, but spent most of her adult life in Nevada, Mo. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pete Writer of Charleston, R.I. and Toni Bosler of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Laverne Futrell of Wynne and Frances McPhail of Slate Springs, Miss.
She was the widow of Dr. William Allen and the sister of the late Onice Faupel of Forrest City.
Funeral services were held in Nevada, Mo. with burial following in Rich Hill, Mo.
Mrs. Pearlie Mae Berry, age 55, of Widener, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
She was born March 4, 1946, in Round Pond, the daughter of the late Willie Howard and Elnora Howard. She was a housekeeper.
Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband, Troy Berry of Widener; four sons, Gregory Stacy of Forrest City, John Stacy of Widener, Leonard Woodard and Marco Woodard, both of Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Vanessa Norment of Forrest City, Stephanie McDaniel of Memphis and Shante Woodard of Forrest City; four brothers, Tommy Howard of Chicago, Johnny Howard of Memphis, Terry Howard and Elliot Howard, both of West Memphis; two sisters, Willie Mae Stamps and Flora Johnson, both of Chicago and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Berry will be held Monday, April 9, 2001, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. John M.B. Church Monday, April 9, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Marland Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Mrs. Flossie M. Wright Westmoreland, age 68, of Parkin, formerly of Forrest City, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas in Jonesboro.
She was born May 19, 1932, in Greene County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Wicker Wright. She was a graduate of Parkin High School. In 1953 she married Fred Westmmoreland, who survives her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parkin.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Westmoreland is survived by two sons, Terry Westmoreland and Mark Westmoreland, both of Wynne; a daughter, Holly Lee Todd of Paragould; three sisters, Doris Pressgrove of Jonesboro, Opal Whitener of Madison, Miss. and Cleavie Godaux of Parkin and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Dossie Wright; and by three sisters, Florine Wood, Edith Jones and Elanor Neimeyer.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the First Baptist Church of Parkin, with the Rev. John Finn officiating, assisted by the Rev. Johnny Green. Burial will be in the Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery at Marion under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Parkin.
