Billie Bowley Couch

Mrs. Billie Bowley Couch, age 73, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Couch, born Nov. 9, 1927, in Robstown, Texas, was the daughter of C.F. Bowley and Althea Chase Bowley. She had made her home in Forrest City for the past 42 years. Mrs. Couch was retired from First National Bank where she served as the senior loan teller for 21 years. Mrs. Couch was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

In 1947 Mrs. Couch married W.T. "Bill" Couch and he survives her along with a son, James Couch of Mablevale; a brother, T. R. Bowley of Dallas, Texas and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Keith Couch in 1969 and Larry Couch in 1992.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Couch was held Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, with Rev. Rex Darling officiating under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church.


Leatie Mae Moore

Mrs. Leatie Mae Moore, age 89, of Forrest City, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Moore was born May 15, 1912, in Pontotoc, Miss. and was the daughter of Leonard Stone and Geneva Staton Stone. She lived in Parkin and Forrest City most of her life and was a housewife.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Wesley Moore in 1984. She is survived by five sons, James Moore of West Memphis, Wayne Moore of Oscelola, Wesley Moore, Steve Moore and Edgar Moore, all of Forrest City; two daughters, Emma Jo Worley of Forrest City and Linda Coleman of Pine Tree; a sister, Ann Marie Graves of Parkin; 33 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be held Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at 4 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Beatrice Young

Mrs. Beatrice Young, age 89, of Madison, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, in Toledo, Ohio.

Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of Madison Light M.B. Church.

She is survived by six daughters, Mary Reese and Elizabeth Johnson, both of Toledo, Ohio, Dorothy Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Texanna Berry of Forrest City, Eloise Boyde of Texas and Alberta Clark of Madison; eight sons, Eugene Williams and Thomas Montgomery, both of Omaha, Neb., Ricardo Montgomery of Toledo, Ohio, Euclide Montgomery, Alfred L. Montgomery, Freddie Montgomery, Fredrick Montgomery and Robert Montgomery, all of Pomona, Calif.; three sisters, Cleo Bundy, Liddia Flenora and Neoma Herron, all of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Albert Lane of Texas; 48 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Young was held today, Aug. 20, 2001, from noon to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Madison Light M.B. Church with Rev. Isiah McKeown officiating the service. Burial will follow in Scott-Bond Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
