Eva V. Graham

Mrs. Eva V. Graham, age 80, of Forrest City, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Graham was born July 1, 1921, in Forrest City and was a retired housekeeper.

She is survived by two sons, Elliott Graham Jr. of Williamsville, NY and Spencer Graham of Youngstown, Ohio; six daughters, Ann Davis, Vickie Hughlett and Mary Graham, all of Milwaukee, Wis., Geneva Simmons of Buffalo, NY, Rosie Hamilton and Bernice Stewart, both of Forrest City; a brother, Woodrow Neal of Forrest City; a sister, Rose Grady of Milwaukee, Wis.; 45 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Graham will be held Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Beth Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Julius Hughes Jr.

Mr. Julius Hughes Jr., age 47, of Dallas, Texas, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Veterans Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Hughes, born July 20, 1954, in St. Louis, Mo., was the son of Julius Hughes Sr. and Alberta McKissick Hughes.

Mr. Hughes is survived by two sons, Jason Hughes of Los Angeles, Calif. and Phillip Hughes of Palestine; two sisters, Phyllis Hughes of Dallas, Texas and Connie Davis of Forrest City and a brother, Albert Hughes of Forrest City.

Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be held Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Goodwin Church of God in Christ with Elder A.D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

A visitation service for Mr. Hughes will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, from noon to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary.
