Otaveion Malik Davis, age 1, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Davis was born Oct. 27, 1999. He was the son of Sheila Akins, of Forrest City and Otis Davis, of West Memphis.
Davis is survived by his parents, Sheila Akins of Forrest City and Otis Davis of West Memphis; a brother, Terrence Akins of Forrest City; a step-brother, Ontario Burnett of West Memphis; a step-sister, Trishawna Davis of West Memphis; his grandparents, Debra Akins Forrest City, Charles Akins of Palestine and Jewel Weatherspoon of West Memphis and his great-grandparents, John and Inez Akins, of Palestine.
Funeral services for Otaveion Davis will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at 2:30 p.m. at United Christian Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Michael Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Palestine under the direction of Marianna Funeral Home.
Mrs. Virginia Hobbs, age 74, of Boston, Mass., died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, in Boston.
Mrs. Hobbs was a former resident of Marianna. She was a homemaker and a member of Hempshire M.B. Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Yvonne Hobbs, Deliah Watkins and Francine Hobbs all of Boston, Mass. and Shirley Dean Arnold of Pine Bluff; two sons, Kennedy Hobbs of Boston, Mass. and Gene Autry Hobbs of Marvell; two sisters, Atra B. Randle of Aubrey and Annie Wade of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, James Smith Jr., of St. Louis and Jessie Paul Smith of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Hobbs will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at 1 p.m., in Hempshire M.B. Church, with the Rev. Lavern Esther. Burial will follow in Hempshire Cemetery. Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
