Nettie Lou Kimble

Mrs. Nettie Lou Kimble, age 90, of Hot Springs, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs.

Mrs. Kimble was born on Oct. 15, 1910, in Tigrett, Tenn., and was the daughter of Perry Thomas Anderson and Zora Dollie Vernon Anderson. She lived in the Beck Spur area most of her life before moving to Hot Springs two years ago. Mrs. Kimble was the owner and operator of Kimble's Grocery, was retired from Reltoc Industries, and was a charter member of the Beck Spur Baptist Church.

Mrs. Kimble married Walter Preston Kimble and he preceded her in death in 1979, along with one son, William Kimble in 1951. She is survived by two daughters, Dolly Archer and Bobbie Neal, both of Hot Springs; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mrs. Kimble will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Beck Spur Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Beck Spur Baptist Church, with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


Marline Young

Mrs. Marline Young, age 70, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Little Rock.

Mrs. Young was born on Jan. 11, 1931, in Senath, Mo. She was the daughter of Dr. E.M. Barnett and Nora Mae Pace. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy L. Young; a daughter, Doris June Cross; a son, Wayne Cross; four brothers, Charles, Cleve, Everette and Herbert. Mrs. Young is survived by three sons, Lelon Cross Jr., of Little Rock, Eddie Cross of Forrest City and Lane Cross of Olive Branch, Miss; three brothers, J.C. Barnett of Benton Harbor, Mich., Tommy Barnett of Mountain View and Larry Barnett of Cave City; two sisters, Nora Edna Pharr of Zachary, La. and Virginia (Jackie) Hill of Moro; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside funeral services for Mrs. Young Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Bell Cemetery in Palestine with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Young will be Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in the Chapel of Roller-Citizen Funeral Home in Marianna.
