Clyde E. Dawson

Mr. Clyde E. Dawson, age 87, of Grubbs, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Dawson was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Abbie Genoa Dawson; five brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Dawson is survived by four sons, Jerry Phillips of Cleveland, Miss., Bubby Huskey of Little Rock, John Edward Dawson and Harry Wayne Dawson, both of Grubbs; four daughters, Anna Ivy of Malvern, Geraldine Powell of Palestine, Debbie Roberson of Bradford and Cathy Holt of Tuckerman; three sisters, Mabel Foster of Weiner, Imogene Dawson of Spokane, Wash. and Nellie Mae Dawson of Texas; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation services for Mr. Dawson will be Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery in Grubbs, with Dillinger Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.


Jewell Aline Venable Fraze

Mrs. Jewell Aline Venable Fraze, 78, of McCrory, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy.

Mrs. Fraze, formerly of Dumas, was born Oct. 25, 1922, and was the daughter of Thomas and Cora Mae Sheppard Venable. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

On Dec. 9, 1939 Mrs. Fraze married Johnny Fraze, who preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by three daughters. Shirley Holifield of McCrory, Sharon Boileau of Forrest City, and Brenda Camper of West Memphis; a brother, Henry Venable of North Little Rock; a sister Betty Crossno of North Little Rock; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation for Mrs. Fraze will be Saturday Feb. 24, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory. Funeral services for Mrs. Fraze will be Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory. Burial will follow in Woodman Cemetery near McCrory under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory and Wynne.


Darrin Ray Johnson

Mr. Darrin Ray Johnson, age 32, of Little Rock, formerly of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in Little Rock.

Mr. Johnson was born on May 28, 1968, in Forrest City. He was the son of Ralph "Pete" Johnson and Marianne King Johnson Floyd. Mr. Johnson was a carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Marianne Floyd of Little Rock; his step father, Terry Floyd of Little Rock; a daughter, Holly Elaine Johnson of Little Rock, his maternal grandmother, Fern Barber of Caldwell and his paternal stepgrandparents, Tom and Mada Floyd of Forrest City.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
