Mr. Otis Townsend Sr., age 78, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Townsend was born on March 3, 1922, in Granada, Miss. and he was retired from Reltoc and was a retired boiler maker.
Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Elzada Townsend of Forrest City; a son, Otis Townsend Jr. of Forrest City; a brother, Robert T. Harris of Parkin; four sisters, Laura Lee Lee of Kansas City, Mo., Mattie Laura Salmon, Doris Beale and Johnnie Mae Spain, all of Elgin, Ill.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation service for Mr. Townsend will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Townsend will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Beth Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery with Clay Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
