Mr. Carey Bruce Gilmer Sr., age 57, of Colt, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Memphis.
Mr. Gilmer was born on Aug. 29, 1943 in Earle. He was the son of Bruce Gilmer and Bunie Hartley Gilmer. Mr. Gilmer lived in the Forrest City area most of his life where he was a golf course grounds keeper and a Baptist.
He was married to Ruby Dale Gilmer in 1965 and she survives him along with two sons, Carey Bruce Gilmer Jr. of Colt and James Smith of Conway; one daughter, Mandy Clark of Colt; his mother, Bunie Gilmer of Colt; three sisters, B.J. Mansel, Glenda Hudgens and Geneva Wilson, all of Colt; four brothers, Ruben Gilmer, Mike Gilmer, Terry Gilmer and Carl Gilmer, all of Colt and three grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Gilmer will be Thursday, March 1, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, March 2, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
