Ruby Lee Crockett

Miss Ruby Lee Crockett, age 74, of Chicago, Ill., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, West Suburin Oak Park, Ill.

Miss Crockett, formerly of Marianna, is survived by three daughters, Henrene Bailey of Edgewater, N.J., Thelma Dean Burrell of Forrest Park, Ill. and Tommye Lee Dunlaney of Maywood, Ill; four sisters, Jaunita Powell, Vera Platt, Carrie Irvin and Selenar Buchanan; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Miss Crockett will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Aubrey with Rev. Hal Johnson officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Antioch M.B. Church. Mcneal Funeral Home, Inc. of Brinkley, and Calahan Funeral Home of Chicago, Ill., are in charge of arrangements.


Lloyd Gustavus

Mr. Lloyd Gustavus, age 92, of Palestine died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mr. Gustavus was a retired farmer and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Forrest City.

He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Chrestman of Byhalia, Miss., Mary Killingsworth of Caldwell, Peggy Taylor of Palestine and Betty Kucera of Sealy, Texas; four sons, Johnny Gustavus, of Des Arc, Tommy Gustavus of Senatobia, Miss., Freddie Gustavus of West Memphis and James Gustavus of Marion; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gustavus was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Gustavus and a son Henry Gustavus.

Funeral services for Mr. Gustavus are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with burial following at Hughes Cemetery. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis is in charge of arrangements.


Nellie Jane Hastings

Mrs. Nellie Jane Hastings, age 88, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Chritopher Homes.

Mrs. Hastings, born Aug. 8, 1912, she was the daughter of Bluford Williams and Emer Williams. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

Mrs. Hastings is survived by two sons, Roy Hastings of Louisiana and George Hastings of Forrest City; four daughters, Louise Cox of Alabama, Jean Witt of Louisiana, Mildred Aunspaugh and Wilma Riggs, both of Forrest City; a sister Mary Cole of Forrest City; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Hastings, Sr., in 1970, and a son, Andrew Bud Hastings, Jr., in 1998.

There will be visitation service for Mrs. Hastings, Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hastings will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Chapel with Bro. J. D. Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Johnny Nelson Malone

Mr. Johnny Nelson Malone, age 59, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Malone was a machinist and a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Currie Malone; a son, Johnny Malone Jr. of Brickeys; a step-son, Chris Herrington of Memphis; his mother, Mary Malone of West Memphis; two brothers, Bill Malone of Pontotoc, Miss. and Holland Malone of Alger, Mich. and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Malone and a sister Helen Lindsey.

Funeral services for Mr. Malone were held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Essex Funeral Home Chapel in DeWitt.

The family requests that all memorials be sent to the Leukemia Society.


Neal Edward Wade II

Neal Edward Wade II, age 85, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Forrest City, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Mich.

Mr. Wade was a deacon at Beth Salem Baptist Church and was a member for over 40 years and he was a retired farmer.

He is survived by a daughter, Ruthie McGhee of Forrest City; a son, Arthur Wade of Canton, Mich.; a sister, Lonneva Ferrell of Caldwell; and two brothers, Willie Wade and Eugene Wade of Milwaukee, Wis.

Funeral services for Mr. Wade will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Beth Salem M.B. Church with Rev. V. L. Faulkner and Rev. Samuel Turner officiating. There will be a visitation service for Mr. Wade at 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.


Mable I. White

Mrs. Mable I. White, age 77, of Widener, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in her home.

Mrs. White was born July 28, 1923 in Alabama and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hartley Keenum. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a housewife and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn White in 1997 and is survived by a daughter, Mecial Baldwin of Widener; two sisters, Lillian Montgomery, of Widener and Mavis Clark, of Alabama; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mrs. White is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at 1 p.m. in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
