Barbara "Bobbie" Roy Boozer

Mrs. Barbara Roy Boozer, age 43, of Caldwell, died Monday, February 5, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Boozer, born Jan. 12, 1958 in LaMarque, Texas, was the daughter of Francis Roy Sr. and the late Hazel Mae Corner Roy. Prior to moving to Arkansas Mrs. Boozer was an abstract clerk in Anahuac,Texas. She was the general manager of the West Memphis Holiday Inn and had served in management with Holiday Inn over the past five years.

In 1977 Mrs. Boozer married Cecil Leonard Boozer Jr., who survives her along with a son, Everett Boozer of Jonesboro; a daughter, Frances Bratton of Bartlett, Tenn; her father, Francis Roy Sr. of Anahuac, Texas; her step-mother, Maggie Roy, of Anahuac, Texas; a brother Raymond Junior of Anahuac, Texas; a sister, Sarah Wilson of Kerrville, Texas and one grandson.

Mrs. Boozer was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Roy Jr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Boozer were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne with the Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Burial followed at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne and McCrory.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.


Bennett Watson Land

Mr. Bennett Watson Land, age 75, of Norman, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at the Norman Regional Hospital in Norman.

Mr. Land, born Jan. 18, 1926 in Little Rock, was the son of Levin Land and Laverne Holwell Land. He devoted his life to ministery where he served in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas. Mr. Land was a graduate of Florida State University and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Perkins, Okla.

In 1953 Mr. Land married Imogene Richardson and she survives him along with a daughter, Linda Leslie of Greenbrier; three sons, Robert Land of Perkins, Okla., Richard Land of Little Rock, and David Land of Circleville, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Land will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorials be sent to the World War II Memorial Monument.
