Joe Andrews

Mr. Joe Andrews, age 63, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Wynne, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at a Tyler hospital.

Mr. Andrews was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Whitehall. He was a resident of Tyler for the last 30 years. Mr. Andrews was an engineer with Union Pacific Railroad and a member of Friendly Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cleda E. Andrews, of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Mattie Faulkner, Donna Walls; and six step-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Andrews were held on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, in Tyler, Texas, the Rev. Dale Perry, Bro. Tim McKeown and Bro. Pat Alvey officiated the service. Burial was held Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne, under the direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home.


Edna Louise Hand

Mrs. Edna Louise Hand, age 87, of Butte, Mont., formerly of Little Rock, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001.

Mrs. Hand was born May 28, 1913 in Fort Smith. She was the daughter of Edward Searle and Julia Wagner DeLoach. Mrs. Hand was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Hand, in 1990. Mrs. Hand is survived by a sister, Catherine Barros, of Fort Smith.

A funeral mass was held for Mrs. Hand Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at St. Andrews Cathedral in Little Rock. Burial followed in the National Cemetery in Little Rock. Griffin Leggette Healy and Roth Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
