Neville Lewis Griggs

Mr. Neville Lewis Griggs, age 53, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Griggs was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Memphis and was the son of Frederick and Dorothy Church Griggs. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Griggs is survived by his wife, Judy Lynn Griggs of the home; a son, Herschel Garrison Griggs of Fayetteville; three daughters, Lynn Hernandez of Forrest City, Mary Lee Purnell of Sikeston, Mo. and Laura Moody of Colt; a sister, Brenda LaBrott of Sikeston, Mo.; a step-son, Shawn Stoner and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday, July 16, 2001, at Beard's Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville with Bro. Larry Bonds officiating. Beard's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.


Lonnie McKnight

Mr. Lonnie McKnight, age 55, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Forrest City.

Mr. McKnight was born Dec. 18, 1945, in Whitmore and was the son of Arner McKnight and Velma Bower.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rucker McKnight of St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Chriss McKnight of St. Louis, Mo.; his father, Arner McKnight and step-mother, Bessie Parker McKnight of Forrest City; nine sisters, Vester Walton of Marianna, Essie Tapping of Jacksonville, Ora Robinson, Odessa Bower, Wanda Bower, Erma Bower, Michell Bower and Sharon Bower, all of North Little Rock and Sylvia Watson of Sherwood; six brothers, Elgin Bower, Danny Bower, Porter Bower, all of North Little Rock, Kenny Bower and Bill Bower, both of Pine Bluff and Adolpht Parker of Forrest City and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. McKnight will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at 1:30 p.m., at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder J. Jones officiating the service. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
