Mr. William Curtis Jordan, age 81, of Palestine, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Jordan was born Aug. 8, 1919 in Palestine and was the son of Ed Jordan and Gertrude Wooten Jordan. He was a farmer and a Baptist.
Mr. Jordan is survived by two sons, Leroy Curtis Jordan and Kenneth Jordan, both of Dublin, Calif.; one daughter, Linda Curtis of Oregon; one brother, Floyd Jordan of Forrest City; one sister, Christine Wendell of Marianna; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Jordan will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery near Palestine under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Mr. Allen Mills, age 83, of Widener, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Mills, born August 17, 1917, in Haynes, was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mills of Madison; 10 sons, Allen Mills Jr., Andrew Mills, Freddie Mills, Robert Mills, Theodis Mills, David Mills, Donald Mills and Cleotis Mills, all of Syracuse, N.Y., Sylvester Mills of Batesville and James Mills of Madison; four daughters, Bertha Mills and Charleane Thompson, both of Madison and Allene Mills and Cheryl Green, both of Forrest City; 54 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Mills will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Mills will be held Thursday, July 19, 2001, at noon at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Chester Rolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
