Mrs. Aretha Sims Harper, age 56, of Madison, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Harper was a factory worker and is survived by three daughters, Brenda Scott of Jonesboro, Juanita Sims Bobo of Tyronza and Sondra Granberry of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sons, Oliver Sims and Gary Sims, both of Garland, Texas; five sisters, Clengie Francisco of Malison, Ohio, Verna Sims of St. Louis, Mo., Darlene Sims of West Memphis, Linda Dickerson of Little Rock and Anthalene Bradley of Camden; five brothers, Edward Sims Jr. and Rufus Jones, both of St. Louis, Mo., Harvey Sims and Exell Sims, both of Little Rock and Terry Sims of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a step-mother, Isabella Sims of Little Rock and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Harper will be Friday, July 20, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in West Memphis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Forrest City with burial following in the city of Madison Cemetery under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cheryl Mitchell Hawkins, age 44, of Savannah, Ga., died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Hawkins was born Oct. 14, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. and was the daughter of Cleveland Mitchell Sr. and Sheilon Harrison Watson.
She is survived by her husband, Lavertis Hawkins of Savannah, Ga.; her mother, Sheilon Harrison Watson of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Charisma West and Bertrina West, both of Pensicola, Fla.; a son, Lavertis Hawkins Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; four sisters, Valerie Mitchell, Loris Mitchell, both of San Francisco, Calif., Sylvia Mitchell of Dallas, Texas, and Gloria Mitchell of Seattle, Wash.; five brothers, Cleveland Mitchell Jr., Curtis Mitchell, Daryl Mitchell and Francious Mitchell, all of Dallas, Texas, and Carlous Mitchell of San Francisco, Calif. and one grandchild.
Visitation for Mrs. Hawkins will be Friday, July 20, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Christ Temple Pentecostal Church with Elder Thomas Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Mr. Ralph William Holland, age 62, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001.
Mr. Holland was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Memphis and was the son of Ralph William Holland, Sr., and Myrtle Roeder Holland. He lived in Forrest City most of his life and was a building contractor. Mr. Holland was a graduate of Earle High School.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Holland of the home; a son, Jim Holland of Forrest City; three daughters, Debbie Allen of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Rizza of Dundee, Ill. and Karen Mitchusson of Wynne; a sister, Patricia Ann Baty of San Angelo, Texas and six grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Holland will be Thursday, July 19, 2001, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Marie Turner, age 74, of West Memphis, formerly of Hughes, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Turner is survived by four daughters, Betty Davis and Rose Turner Woods, both of West Memphis, Emma Cox of Proctor and Bernice Hill of Chicago, Ill.; 10 sisters, Bernice Sanders of Los Angeles, Calif., Lavern Mason of Tulsa, Okla., Ozella Wilson, Diane Hatton and Lorine Moore, all of Hughes, Jo Ann Toney of Memphis, Ester Dawson and Bessie Lowe, both of Forrest City, Azzle Joshaway of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Mary Bridges of Miami, Fla.; five brothers, William Benard of Chicago, Ill., Tom Benard and David Benard, both of Hughes, Johnny Bridges and Willie Bridges, both of Miami, Fla.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Turner will be Friday, July 20, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Anthony Funeral Home Chapel South in West Memphis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2001, at 1 p.m., at St. Luke M.B. Church in Hughes with burial to follow in Paradise Gardens under the direction of Anthony Funeral Home of West Memphis.
