Mr. Joseph Henry Cannon, age 62, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Fisher, the son of Isaac Newton Cannon and Mary Louise Hart Cannon. He was a retired United States Air Force veteran. He was a Baptist, and a resident of Forrest City for the past 18 years. He was also a former resident of Cherry Valley. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Cannon is survived by two brothers, Terry Cannon and Paul Cannon, both of Batesville, and three sisters, Esther Fern Woodard of Cherry Valley, Barbara Cannon of Batesville and Evelyn Cannon of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, Tresa Cannon.
Visitation will be tonight, Monday, July 2, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Woodard Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery at Hickory Ridge, under the direciton of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.
Mr. Paul Leon Jenkins, age 59, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, in Forrest City.
He was born Dec. 24, 1941, in Arkansas, the son of Jessie George Jenkins and Maudie May Jenkins. He lived in Searcy most of his life until moving to Forrest City five years ago. He was a mechanic.
Mr. Jenkins married Natalie Lloyd in 1997. She survives him, along with two sons, Gary Jenkins and Toney Jenkins, both of Searcy, two sisters, three granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 4, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Mr. Jenkins will be held at Stevens Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2001, with burial in Loughridge Cemetery.
