Vernon "Aubrey" Pervin

Mr. Vernon "Aubrey" Pervin, age 83, of Wynne and St. Francis County, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Pervin was born July 7, 1918, in Colt and was the son of the late Eddie L. and Cora Ella Daniel Pervin. He was a retired farmer and a World War II Veteran. Mr. Pervin was employed for the last several years by Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. He was also a member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Lions Club, served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader, a volunteer of the Health Hospice Program for 10 years and volunteered his services for numerous other charities.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roselle Chrisco in 1982; a son, Mike Pervin; a brother, Morris Pervin and a sister, Beatrice Grant.

Mr. Pervin is survived by his wife, Peggy Pervin of Wynne; a grandson, Matt Pervin of Wynne and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Pervin were held Monday, July 30, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Bro. David Ward and Bro. David Langley officiating the service. Burial followed in Smith Chapel Cemetery near Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home.

The family request memorials be sent to Grace Baptist Church in Wynne.


Calvin Lee Stewart

Mr. Calvin Lee Stewart, age 59, of Colt, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Veterans Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Stewart was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Forrest City and was the son of Calvin Stewart and Dorothy Dean Watkins Stewart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a machinist and a Baptist.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Bettie Stewart of Forrest City; a son, Calvin Stewart of Caddo Gap; a daughter, Lois Stewart of Caddo Gap; a brother, Larry White; a sister, Dorothy Dean and a granddaughter.

A graveside service was held for Mr. Stewart on Monday, July 30, 2001, at 11 a.m. , at Loughridge Cemetery with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating the service under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
