Izora Good

Mrs. Izora Good, age 82, of Brinkley, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock.

Mrs. Good, born April 14, 1919, in Lafe, was the daughter of Albert and Harriet Carnett Cole. She lived most of her life in the Wheatley and Brinkley areas. Mrs. Good was a member of the Goodwin Baptist Church in Goodwin, the women's missionary union and the home demonstration club.

Mrs. Good was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Earl "Dock" Good and a granddaughter, Kim Woods, of Austin, Texas.

She is survived by a son, Albert Good, of Wheatley; three daughters, Joyce Pillow, of Batesville, Joan Shumate of Branch and Jane Woods of Brinkley; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Good will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Goodwin Baptist Church with Dr. J.E. Hughes and Bro. Bill Good officiating with burial to follow in Johnston Funeral Home under the direction of Fowler Funeral Home. There will be a visitation service tonight, Tuesday, July 31, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fowler Funeral Home.


Loyd Arthur Howell

Mr. Loyd Arthur Howell, age 83, of Memphis, died, Sunday, July 29, 2001, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Memphis.

Mr. Howell, a retired carpenter, was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Howell. He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Perry of Forrest City and Hazel Edgens of Cedartown, Ga.; and a brother Joe Howell of Chapel Hill, Va.

Funeral services for Mr. Howell will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Forest Hill East Chapel in Memphis burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery under the direction of Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis.
