The adult men's softball league is down to just five games -- the rain out games from earlier in the year.
Monday night, Poison held on to their lead by taking apart Kerby's 21-6 to improve to 12-1 for the year.
Poison scored eight runs each in the third and sixth innings to do the damage.
Kerby's drops to 6-7 for the year.
Elite Security, in second place at 11-2, stayed within striking distance of Poison with a 23-4 win over the Forrest City Young Guns.
Third place Sanyo edged Food Giant 5-4 in a game that was decided on an appeal play when Food Giant's Chester Crossen -- representing the tying run -- was called out after umpires ruled he left second base early after a fly ball to center field was caught for the second out.
The 8-6-4 double play ended the game leaving Food Giant at 3-9 for the year.
Patton and Taylor handed S.S.A. a 25-10 loss and Miller Insurance defeated Boar's Head 18-6.
In women's play, Odd Sox and Chism Concrete each picked up another victory and remained locked in a tie for first place in the league.
Both teams are 11-2 for the year with two games left to play.
Odd Sox edged Clark Appraisals 4-1 while Chism defeated First National Bank 13-1.
In the league's final game of the night, Purple Haze improved to 8-5 for the year by taking a 14-3 win over Super Center.
The men's and women's district tournament will be played Saturday at Marion.
The eighth annual WynneBall Tournament begins tonight at Wynne's Sports Complex when the 10-under and 12-under teams take the field.
Two Forrest City teams will be in action today.
The Forrest City Fireballs will play Marked Tree at 5:30 p.m., on Field 2, in the opening game of the 10-under Olympic-style bracket which involves six teams playing from two pools.
Marion, West Helena, Brinkley and Wynne make up the remainder of the bracket.
The Fireballs are coached by Terry Laws, Ronnie Beshears and Jim Machen.
The Forrest City 11-year-old All Stars will open play tonight at 5:30 when they take on Marked Tree on Field 1.
The 12-under bracket features eight teams, divided into two pools.
The 8-under coach pitch bracket begins Thursday while the 6-under tee-ball tournament starts Friday night.
Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.
The tournament runs through Sunday, July 22.

The USSSA 10-year-old "AAA" World Series began Monday at Southaven, Miss.
The tournament features 82 teams from 17 states.
Six of those teams hail from Arkansas -- including the Wynne Yellowjackets -- a team that is made up of seven players from Wynne and six players from Forrest City.
The Forrest City "Six" are Brent Devazier, Baker Aldridge, Barrett Astin, Joey Bonds, Raymond Patillo and Turner Norsworthy.
The seven Wynne representatives are Alex Andrews, Casey Carlson, Sam Hanzlik, Cody Nichols, Aaron Pool, Craig Walker and Matthew West.
The team is being coached by Jay Caldwell and Greg Bonds.
The Yellowjackets picked up a pair of first-round wins Monday.
They defeated the Independence Hammers from Independence, Mo., 13-6 with Patillo picking up the pitching victory.
Later in the day they knocked off the Plano Pride, from Plano, Texas 10-2, using the eight runs after four inning run-rule.
Devazier picked up the victory from the mound.
Wynne was scheduled to play the Hilliard Sooners from Oklahoma City, the final team in their pool today with a chance to advance to the tournament's championship round.
A win would leave the Yellowjackets 3-0 in pool play.
The tournament will continue through Sunday, July 22.
Besides Wynne, the Arkansas teams involved are the Arkansas Travelers from Fayetteville; Central Arkansas Express from Conway; Magnolia Stars from Magnolia; the Marion Flyers and the Outback Steakhouse Aces from Fort Smith.
Following Monday, Marion was 1-1 in pool play while Magnolia was 0-1. The Arkansas Travelers were 1-0.
Wynne is hoping to form a girls' fall softball league.
An organizational meeting will be held Monday, July 30, at 7 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Wynne.
The season is expected to run September through October at the Wynne Sports Complex with both slow pitch and fast pitch league teams involved.
Team entry fees are $250 and coaches can pick their own teams.
Age divisions will be 17-under and 14-under fast pitch and 17-under, 14-under and 10-under slow pitch.

Taco Bell sponsored its final basketball camp of the summer last week for junior high school boys at Mustang Arena. The four-day camp, which drew about 20 campers, was under the direction of Forrest City High School Mustang basketball coach Dwight Lofton.
