Mr. Ray Ingle, age 73, of Cherry Valley, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at St. Benard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Ingle was born March 24, 1928, in Holcum, Mo, and was the son of the late Clint Dennis and Barbara Sanders Ingle. He was a retired farmer and rancher and was a Baptist.
Mr. Ingle was preceded in death by three brothers, Louie Ingle, Joe Ingle and Leon Ingle; three sisters, Modine Sutton, Margaret Smith and Garaldine Whitlow and a great granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Houlberg.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen Newsom Ingle of the home; a son, Reggie Ingle of Marion; four daughters, Ellen Peeler of Vanndale, Venetta Ingle of Forrest City, Jackie Ingle McCay of Millington, Tenn. and Connie Ingle of Southhaven, Miss.; three sisters, Wilma Gama of Chicago, Ill., Virgie Pharris of Nashville, Tenn. and Diane Carr of Jackson, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Ingle will be Friday, June 1, 2001, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Miller officiating the service. Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Rev. John W. Lockhart Sr., age 82, of Forrest City, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Rev. Lockhart was born Aug. 9, 1918, in Marianna. He was a retired instructor in the Forrest City School District, an Army veteran and was founder and pastor emeritus at United Christian M.B. Church.
He is survived by four sons, John W. Lockhart Jr. of Columbus, Ga., Jimmie Lockhart of Southfield, Mich., Donald Lockhart of Atlanta, Ga. and Kenneth Lockhart of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Melvin Lockhart of Forrest City and Henderson Lockhart of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Lillie Lockhart and Nellie Conyers, both of St. Louis, Mo. and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Rev. Lockhart will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 3, 2001, at 1 p.m. at United Christian M.B. Church with Rev. Uzziah Duncan and Rev. Ricky Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
