Mr. John Wayne Armstrong, age 69, of Forrest City, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Mr. Armstrong, born March 6, 1932, in Irving, Texas, was the son of P.S. Armstrong and Mary Cader Armstrong Beason. He lived in the Forrest City area most of his life and was retired from Old Reliable Insurance Company. He also was an employee of Vaccaro Lumber Company and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church.
In 1955 Mr. Armstrong married Elizabeth Rich and she survives him along with a son, John Wallace Armstrong of Memphis; two daughters, Rebecca Lee of Forrest City and Christine Armstrong Moore of Memphis; a brother, William Beason of Heber Springs; a sister Mary Tom Weaver of Arab, Ala.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service for Mr. Armstrong will be held Sunday, June 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. There will be a visitation service prior to the memorial service beginning at noon. Steven's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Betty Jean Foxx Hudson, age 68, of Wynne, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Hudson was born Oct. 3, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Oscar Franklin and Maggie Belle Gann Foxx. She was a sales clerk at Reginald Lee's in Wynne for the past 14 years and was a former line supervisor at Sanyo Manufacturing in Forrest City for over 24 years. Mrs. Hudson was a Baptist and a member of the Moose Lodge in Forrest City. She was also a lifelong resident of Wynne.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by two sons, Danny Burrow and Donnie Burrow, both of Wynne; a sister, Mildred McCoy of Wynne; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Everett Foxx and a sister Edith Nixon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hudson were held Friday, June 22, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The family requests memorials be made to the Cross County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Mildred Hodges Mullikin, age 93, of Forrest City, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Crestpark Retirement Inn.
Mrs. Mullikin, born, Nov. 30, 1907 in Forrest City, was the daughter of Samuel Lee Hodges and Emma Haven Hodges. Mrs. Mullikin lived her entire life in Forrest City and was a member of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Garden Gate Club.
In 1930 she married Lloyd Raymond Mullikin and he preceded her in death in 1975. She is survived by a daughter Marcille Farr of West Hartford , Conn. and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation services are scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. A graveside service for Mrs. Mullikin will be held Sunday, June 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction Stevens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorials be sent to Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Miss Amanda Edgar Wilkerson, age 21, of Forrest City, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Forrest City.
Miss Wilkerson was born Oct. 9, 1979, in Little Rock. She was a student at the University of Mississippi and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Miss Wilkerson was also a member of the Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her mother, Linda McAuley Carney of Proctor; her father, Jim Edgar of Atlanta, Ga.; her step-father, Gil Carney of Proctor; a brother, Drew Wilkerson of Proctor; a maternal grandmother, Sula Hobbie of Forrest City; a maternal great-grandmother, Kathryn Rauscher of Forrest City and a paternal grandmother, Edna Edgar of Forrest City.
Private funeral services will be held for the family under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
