Hunter Paul Brown

Mr. Hunter Paul Brown, age 83, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, April 16, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.

Mr. Brown was born March 30, 1918, and was the son of Ruffin T. Brown and Mary Roland Brown. He had been a lifetime resident of St. Francis County and a charter member of Forrest Hills Methodist Church. Mr. Brown served during World War II in the U.S. Air Force and worked for a sign company and the post office prior to retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dishion Brown of the home; a daughter, Paulette Jones of Batesville; three sisters, Louise Dearrington and Elizabeth Boswell, both of Forrest City and Mildred Stevens of Parsons, Tenn. and two grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one son, David Brown and three brothers, Teel Brown, Fred Brown and Mack Brown.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown were held Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Ray, Bro. David Ramsey and Bro. Gary Malone officiating the services under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Helen Roberta Gilbreth

Mrs. Helen Roberta Gilbreth, age 83, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Gilbreth was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Grand Glaze, and was the daughter of C.N. Wood and Ethel Taylor Wood. She lived in Forrest City all of her life, was a housewife and a member of Village Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gilbreth was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gilbreth in 1979. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Franks and Vicki Taylor, both of Forrest City; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gilbreth was also preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Jean Gilbreth in 1943 and a granddaughter, Robin Taylor in 1979.

Visitation for Mrs. Gilbreth will be Monday, June 4, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Village Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Albert Young and Bro. David Yates officiating the service. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Evan Meyer

Mr. Evan Meyer, age 28, of Forrest City, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Meyer was employed as a mill wright.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Johnston of Forrest City; his father, Howard Meyer; a sister, Toni Heath of Wynne and a brother, Aric Butowsky of Mt. Vernon, Ind.

Funeral services for Mr. Meyer were held Sunday, June 3, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Lindsey Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis.
