Taylor-Casbeer had it a little easier than most of the Minor League teams during Saturday's make up day.

Taylor-Casbeer played only one game Saturday, defeating M&T Paving 10-7 to stay on top of the league standings at 11-1.

M&T, 10-2 for the year, has lost both games to Taylor-Casbeer.

Friday night, in regular season action, T-C downed Lion's Club 13-6.

By contrast, M&T Paving played a Friday night game and then returned Saturday to play four games. The team finished 4-1 to stay in second place in the league standings.

Mr. T Auto also played four games over the weekend and won all four to improve to 9-4 for the year, keeping the team in third.

Mr. T Auto, which finished second at the preseason Wynne Tournament last month, defeated Joey's Muffler 13-6 Friday night and returned Saturday to down Easley Law 18-16, Lion's Club 12-9 and Easley again 11-5.

M&T Paving beat Lion's Club and Farm Bureau on Saturday.

In other games played Saturday, Joey's put down Lion's Club 20-9 and Dr. Beasley held off Lion's Club 9-8 to improve to 3-8 for the year.

Lion's Club, 6-7 after the weekend, lost all six games played during the Friday-Saturday stretch.

League play continues tonight and the final two make up games will be played Wednesday, June 20.

A Minor League pitching machine tournament will be held this weekend at the Sports Complex and more details of that event will be given later this week.

Errant call leaves 10-under teams locked in 10-10 tie

Trio of make up games set for tonight

An errant call led to an unusual ocurrance in girls' 10-under slow pitch softball Friday night.

The Forrest City Bank-Mom's game ended in a 10-10 tie after the umpires called the game at the end of the time limit, refusing to allow the two teams to play extra innings to decide a clear winner.

While the rule to let "time-limit tie games" stand has been put into effect this season in the 12-under and 16-under fast pitch leagues, the rule does not apply to the slow pitch league, which has been allowed to play out ties at the end of regulation.

In other 10-under games, Dr. Schwartz defeated Steven's 13-6, Food Giant downed True Value 9-7, Title Company beat Walker Insurance 8-2 and league-leader Sanyo ran past Southern Furniture 15-1.

Sanyo stays unbeaten at 12-0 for the year.

Dr. Schwartz and Title Company are tied for second place in the standings at 9-3 while Food Giant is third at 8-4.

The 10-under league will make up three rain out games tonight when Forrest City Bank plays Mom's; True Value takes on Food Giant and Dr. Schwartz plays Steven's. All three games begin at 6 p.m.

12-Under League

There was a tie in the 12-under league Friday, the second one this season, when Giffin's Grins and Debbie's Flowers played to a 12-12 tie.

Crowley's defeated Children's Clinic 14-6.

The 12-under league has two regular season playing dates remaining this week.

16-Under League

Dr. St. John stayed unbeaten on Friday by putting away Clay Funeral Home 13-1.

St. John, who clinched the league title last week, stands at 11-0 with one game to play.

In other Friday games, Bonanza improved to 6-5 for the year by defeating Sanyo 12-5 and McDonald's moved to 8-3 in the league with a 14-10 win over Boar's Head.

The 16-under league will play their final regular season games on Tuesday night.
