Herman Gilbert Gingerich

Mr. Herman Gilbert Gingerich, age 90, of Forrest City, formerly of Cotton Plant, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mr. Gingerich was born Jan. 15, 1911 in Stuttgart and was the son of Herman Adam Gingerich and Susan Mae Tucker Gingerich. He was the owner of Gilbert's Cash Market in Cotton Plant and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Gingerich married Jane Imogene Plunkett in 1936 and she preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by two sons, John Gingerich of Maumelle and Fred Gingerich of Duncanville, Texas; two daughters, Susan Sanders of Pine Tree and Jeanie Deck of Fairview, Tenn.; one brother, Jim Gingerich of Stuttgart; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Gingerich will be Friday, March 16, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2001, at 2 p.m., in Stevens Funeral Home, with burial following in Barnshaw Cemetery, with Stevens Funeral home in charge of the arrangements. The family request memorials to be made to Bethel Baptist Church.


Lilly Moria Jordan

Mrs. Lilly Moria Jordan, age 92, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001.

Mrs. Jordan was born Feb. 21, 1909, in Octa, Mo., to Rufus and Christine Sutfin Gribble. She married William Jordan in 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Joel; four brothers, Homer Gribble, Bill Gribble, Barney Gribble and Matt Gribble; three sisters, Belle Barker, Effie Mayberry and Bessie Louise Easley.

Mrs. Jordan is survived by three son, Eafrus Jordan of Piggott, Joel Dean Jordan of Omaha, Neb. and Ronald Jordan; four daughters, Florence Latimer, Alicetene Garner and Gail Waggoner, all of Piggot and Sharon Eason of Colt; a special adopted daughter, Joella Pollard of Piggot; one brother, Jess Gribble of Lulu, Ga.; one sister, Zinnia Stairs of Paragould; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Visitation service for Mrs. Jordan will be today, Friday, March 16, 2001, from 1 to 9 p.m., at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 17, 2001, at 11 a.m., in Irby Funeral Home with Bro. C. Ray Miller and Bro. Benny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Piggott Cemetery, under the direction of Irby Funeral Home.


Robert F. Lawyer

Mr. Robert F. Lawyer, age 83, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Good Samaritan Village.

Mr. Lawyer was born Jan. 18, 1918 in Bismark, N.D. and was the son of Stephen Alec Lawyer and Frances Olive Leathers Lawyer. He was the founder and first president of the First National Bank of Mountain Home. He was associated with numerous civic and charitable organizations and was a Church of Christ minister for 60 years.

Mr. Lawyer married Vera Colvin Lawyer in 1938, and she preceded him in death, along with four brothers and one sister.

He is survived by three sons, Richard C. Lawyer of Tulsa, Okla., David F. Lawyer of Springdale and Mike Lawyer of Forrest City; four brothers, Ray S. Lawyer of Huntington Beach, Calif., John H. "Jack" Lawyer of Conway, Virgil H. Lawyer of Searcy and Kenneth E. Lawyer of Independence, La.; two sisters, Mary J. Ross of Austin, Texas and Lois E. Conn of Louisville, Ken.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation service for Mr. Lawyer will be today Friday, March 16, 2001, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2001, at 10 a.m., in College and North Church of Christ, with Bro. Bill Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home, with Roller Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.


Pearline Norris

Mrs. Pearline Norris, former resident of Forrest City, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Ebenezer Health Care Center in Burnsville, Minn.

Mrs. Norris is survived by two sons, Elder George Norris, Jr. of Brooklyn Center, Minn. and Frank Norris of Burnsville, Minn.; five daughters, Ernistine Chambers, Norma Lott and Barbara Jean Jordan, all of St. Paul, Minn., Christine McNutt of Burnsville, Minn. and Clara Norris of Minneapolis, Minn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norris were held on Friday, March 16, 2001, at New Salem M.B. Church in Minnesota, with Rev. Theo McNutt, Jr. officiating.
