Mr. Rayburn O. Kelly, age 77, of Moro, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Kelly was born June 14, 1923, in Cotton Plant, was the son of William Kelly and Daisy Miller. He was a grocery store owner and a member of various lodges and clubs and was a member of Moro Baptist Church.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Ruby Kelly of the home; two sons, Bill Kelly of Moro and Gary Kelly of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, James Kelly of Little Rock, Billy Kelly of Searcy and Doug Kelly of Cabot; two sisters, Betty Lou Jones and Sybil Farrell both of Harrison; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Kelly will be Tuesday, March 27, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Moro Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Bill Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna.
Mrs. Sara Mills Pitcock Parker, age 75, of Forrest City, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mrs. Parker was born May 19, 1925, in Pope, Miss. She was the daughter of Ernest Pitcock and Cordie Campbell Pitcock. Mrs Parker had lived in Forrest City the past 36 years and had been the director of nursing at Forrest City Hospitals for 30 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City.
Mrs. Parker married Fred W. Parker in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by one daughter, Pat Hamilton of Forrest City; two sons, Charlie Parker and Mike Parker, both of Jonesboro; one sister, Lucy Clark of Memphis; a brother, Haywood Pitcock of Sardis, Miss., and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Parker will be Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Audrey Willene Peterson, age 73, of Forrest City, died Friday, March 23, 2001.
Mrs. Peterson, born March 5, 1928, in Sand Slough, was the daughter of Odis "Rass" Lawson and Mary Kelso Lawson. She was a retired employee of Southwestern Bell where she worked for 29 years and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Peterson lived in Forrest City for most of her life.
In 1953 Mrs. Peterson married Dan Peterson and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dan Peterson in 2000. She is survived by a son, Luther Peterson of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Jewel French and Linda Jones, both of Forrest City; five brothers, Billy Lawson and Carl Lawson, both of Colt, Charles Lawson of Pine Tree, Odis Lawson of Newcastle and Phil Lawson of Forrest City and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Peterson were held Sunday, March 25, 2001, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Thomason and Rev. Dan Minton officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
