Mr. Cleavon Gatewood, age 69, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Crestpark Retirement Inn.
Mr. Gatewood, born June 21, 1931, in Lagrange, Tenn., was a retired farmer. He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Gatewood of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five brothers, Andrew Gatewood, Thomas Gatewood and Earnest White, all of Little Rock, John Gatewood Jr., of Holly Springs, Miss. and Edward Gatewood of Widener; nine sisters, Dora Jean Summage of Omaha, Neb., Evester Gatewood of Detroit, Mich., Earnestine Lewis, Nettie Mae Parks and Mary Butler, all of Little Rock, Louise Crawford, Linda Gatewood and Lillie B. Watson, all of Forrest City and Pearlie Barley of Rochester, N.Y. and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Gatewood will be Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Rising Sun M.B. Church with Rev. John Strong officiating. Burial will follow at Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
