At first light this morning, Forrest City's "baseball-softball" doubleheader scheduled for today at the Sports Complex appeared to be in "double" jeopardy.

Heavy rains Wednesday night poured more water onto the already water-logged fields.

But, by mid-morning Recreation Department crews were giving the thumbs up signaling the games would indeed, be played as scheduled.

The Forrest City Mustang baseball team will host the Wynne Yellowjackets for a varsity-junior varsity doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

The Mustangs haven't played since last Friday, when they defeated West Memphis 6-5 in nine innings in AAAAA-East Conference action.

The Mustangs are 1-1 in the league.

The Forrest City Lady Mustangs softball team will host the Sylvan Hills Lady Bears in a varsity-junior varsity doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

The Lady Mustangs lost to Stuttgart on Tuesday 11-9 in a conference outing.

After today, neither team has another scheduled game until after Spring break.

The Lady Mustangs will travel to Osceola on March 27 while the Mustangs will host Osceola on March 28.
