Rain sabotaged Thursday's schedule of high school events.
The baseball, softball and track teams were all idled when moderate rain moved through the area between 4 and 5 p.m.
Mother Nature did not stop the Forrest City golf team, which braved the rain and the cold in matches against visiting Jonesboro.
The Hurricane won the conference tilt, shooting a team score of 156 to Forrest City's 180.
Josh Coleman led the Mustang team with a round of 42.
Jonesboro's Joe Duke and Chris Woodard tied for medalist honors -- both finishing with a round of 38.
In the girls' side, Krista Coleman enjoyed her best outing of the year, shooting a 46 while Sarah Eldridge finished with a 53 and Hannah Cohn ended with a 63.
Jonesboro did not field a girls' team this year, which paired Forrest City's girls in mixed trio's with the boys.
Jonesboro's junior varsity team won their match with a team score of 72.
The Forrest City Mustang baseball team cancelled their game at Brinkley.
Weather permitting, the Mustangs will play at Searcy today.
The Lady Mustang softball team watched their scheduled game against Bay fall by the wayside and the Forrest City senior and junior boys track teams cancelled their trip to the Wynne Yellowjacket Relays.
The Lady Mustang Invitational Softball Tournament, scheduled to be played Saturday at the Sports Complex, has been cancelled.
Forrest City Assistant Athletic Director John Burgess said this morning due to the overnight rain and other developments this week, "it was in the best interest of all the teams involved to cancel the tournament."
The tournament was originally an eight-team field before two teams withdrew unexpectedly this week, leaving tournament officials scrambling to replace the vacancies.
Burgess said there is a possibility the tournament may be rescheduled.
