Ethel Anderson

Mrs. Ethel Anderson, age 85, of Forrest City, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.

Mrs. Anderson, born March 13, 1916, in Gunnerson, Miss., was a retired farmer. She is survived by a son, J.D. Kidd of Forrest City.

Visitation for Mrs. Anderson will be Wednesday, May 2, 2001, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3, 2001, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Clay Hill Cemetery in Haynes under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.


Corinne Hurt Bledsoe

Mrs. Corinne Hurt Bledsoe, age 73, of Forrest City, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Memphis.

Mrs. Bledsoe was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Palestine to William Isham Hurt and Kate Harris Hurt. She lived in the Forrest City area all of her life and was retired from Southwestern Bell. Mrs. Bledsoe was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was past president of the Business and Professional Women's Organization.

She is survived by her husband, Luther W. Bledsoe; and two sisters, Marguerite Frost of North Little Rock and Marie Mattioli of Kennesaw, Ga. Mrs. Bledsoe was preceded in death by a son, William Perry Bledsoe in 1971, and a brother, Troy Hurt in 1997.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bledsoe were held today, Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Darling officiating. Burial followed in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
