Mr. Franklin R. Logan, age 66, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Logan, born Aug. 30, 1933, in Earle, was the son of Ellis Logan and Leona Riley Logan. Mr. Logan was a retiree from the U.S. Army and a Master Mason. He was also a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Logan of the home; six sons, Doug Logan of North Little Rock, Cory Logan of Brighton, Tenn., Barry Logan of West Point, Miss., Scott Logan of Counce, Tenn., Anthony Lawrence of Marked Tree and Charles Lawrence of Lepanto; a brother, Wayne Logan of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Shirley Chapman of Russellville, Charlotte "Bugs" Logan of Memphis and Diana Yale of Dubois, Pa.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Edna Collier and two brothers J.T. Logan and R.B. Logan.
Visitation for Mr. Logan will be Thursday, May 10, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home. There will be a military funeral service for Mr. Logan Friday, May, 11, 2001, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with the Chaplin and Rev. Art Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be sent to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Miss Mallorie Nicole Long, age 10, of Wynne, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis.
Miss Long was born Oct. 29, 1990, in Memphis and was the daughter of Frank and Marcia Minor Long Sr. She was a fourth grade student at Wynne Intermediate School, where she was an honor student since the first grade. Miss Long also served as a representative for the past two years and was voted "Most Studious" by her classmates. She played softball for the First National Bank team and was a former brownie in Troop 66 in Wynne.
Miss Long is survived by her parents, Frank and Marcia Long of Wynne; one brother, Frankie Long Jr. of Wynne; one sister, Jessica Long of Wynne; her grandparents, Donald and Ellen Minor of Wynne and Elouise Long of Hickory Ridge.
Funeral services for Miss Long will be Friday, May 11, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Chapel in Wynne with Rev. Tom Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis.
Mrs. Martha Jean Stewart, age 68, of Marianna, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, in West Memphis.
Mrs. Stewart, a homemaker, is survived by four sons, David Stewart of Proctor, Curt Stewart of San Diego, Calif., James Stewart of Marianna and Wilburn Stewart of Little Rock; seven sisters, Katie Harris of Florida, Susie Banks and Christine Vincent, both of Renton, Wash., Geardine Rucker of Modesto, Calif., Polly Moore of Newark, Calif., Hattie Little of Alton, Ill. and Marie Coleman of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Tommy Harris and Bobby Harris, both of Marianna and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 13, 2001, at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery in Marianna.
