Tommy Lee Johnson

Mr. Tommy Lee Johnson, age 58, of Piggott, formerly of Forrest City, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was 58.

Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 28, 1942. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Rob Johnson of Forrest City and Jeremy Johnson of Wynne and three grandchildren.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time, but are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector.


Russell C. Nichol

Mr. Russell C. Nichol, aged 80, of Memphis, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at his home.

He was born July 25, 1925, in Devil's Lake, N.D., the son of Elgin Raymond Nichol and Vera Jane Campbell Nichol. He lived in Memphis most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Whitten Memorial Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver and a retired maintenance mechanic for Buckeye Cellulose in Memphis.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Webb Nichol of the home; a daughter, Billie Jane Lovett of Memphis; two sons, Karl Nichol of Memphis and David Nichol of Forrest City; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 25, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. at Forrest Hills Funeral Home East in Memphis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Forrest Hills East, under the direction of Rev. Rob Ray, with burial following at the Forrest Hills East cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Whitten Memorial Baptist building fund.
