Parie Lee Jones Mathis

Mrs. Parie Lee Jones Mathis, age 71, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

Mrs. Mathis was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

She is survived by seven daughters, Louise Plunkett, Irene Byles, Christine Duckworth, Eula Moore and Mary Harris, all Forrest City, Vera Brown of Marion, and Mildred Mathis of Jennette; three sons, John Mathis of Jennette, Roy Mathis of Memphis and Marvin Mathis of Conway; a step-son, Williard Mathis of Grand Chain, Ill.; her mother, Ora Jones of Forrest City; two brothers, Horace Jones and Dewitt Jones, both of Cleveland, Ohio; 33 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Mathis will be Friday, June 1, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in West Memphis and Saturday, June 2, 2001, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Jennette. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, at noon, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Jennette with burial following in the church cemetery under the direction of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.


Robert Louis Malone

Mr. Robert Louis Malone, age 62, of Memphis, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at his home in Memphis.

Mr. Malone was born Sept. 1, 1939, in St. Francis County. He was the son of the late Willie J. and Mary Malone. Mr. Malone lived in Memphis most of his life and was a specialist mechanic technician for Schilling and Gossett Motors until he retired. He was a member of the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis.

Mr. Malone was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Malone and a daughter. He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Malone-Pittman and Vanessa Malone-Brown, both of Memphis; five sons, Robert Louis Malone Jr., Reginald Malone, Gregory Malone, Cory LaShun Malone, all of Memphis and Robert E. Jones of Forrest City; a sister, Alma Jean Hampton of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Willie Frank Malone of Chicago, Ill. and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Malone will be Friday, June 1, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Chapel of N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Memphis. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, at noon, at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church at 70 North Bellevue in Memphis. Burial will follow under the direction of N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.


Charles Charlie Mobley

Mr. Charles Charlie Mobley, age 77, of Forrest City, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.

Mr. Mobley was a licensed funeral home director for Kennedy Funeral Home for 43 years and was a member of Beth Salem M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Arline Mobley of Forrest City; two daughters, Diane Mobley of Forrest City and Deloris McKinley of Southville, Mich.; two sisters, Alma Clemmer of Merrivelle, Ind. and Eliza Smith of Marianna; five brothers, Thedosia Mobley of Kansas City, Mo., Hamp Mobley Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Thurman Mobley of Union City, Tenn., Fredrick Mobley of Chicago, Ill. and Julius Mobley of Williams, Ore.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Mobley will be Friday, June 1, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel in Marianna, and from 3 to 5 p.m., at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel in Forrest City. There will be a wake later the same evening from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Beth Salem M.B. Church with the Rev. Vernon Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery in Marianna under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
