The Arkansas Optometric Association recently held its first Dr. J.C. Beane Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of the late Dr. Beane, of Forrest City. Optometrists from across the state helped raise $4,000 which will go towards loans and scholarships for optometry students in Arkansas. The first donation was presented to Trisha Morris, president of the Arkansas Affiliate to the American Foundation for Vision Awareness scholarship fund.
