Tonight's schedule of youth baseball and adult league softball games have been rained out, according to Forrest City Athletic Director Kenneth Taylor.
Heavy rain fell through the area Wednesday night and the forecast for the remainder of the day calls for the chance of more rain.
"We just don't need to take a chance on getting anybody hurt," Taylor said. "The fields are wet and even if we worked them there would be some very slick spots. It's better to just cancel and give the fields another day."
Taylor said he is hopeful the program can get the Friday night schedule of games played.
The leagues involved in tonight's rain outs include Minor, Bambino (9-10), and Junior Babe Ruth as well as the men's and women's adult softball leagues.

Forrest City is losing another coach.
Johnny Fortenberry, who has been with the district two years, will be the senior girls' basketball head coach at Paris High School.
Fortenberry coached the white junior high boys' basketball team this season and was an assistant coach for the junior high football team and girls' slow-pitch softball team.
"My wife Tracey, and I just felt like the Paris opportunity was one we couldn't pass up," Fortenberry said. "It was a tough decision because we've made a lot of good friends here in Forrest City."
Michael Work, one of six coaches hired last summer, decided in April that he was leaving Forrest City for a coaching position with the Marion school district.
Fortenberry coached at Cross County and Hughes before coming to Forrest City.
Forrest City senior Mark Lewis signed a scholarship letter-of-intent to play baseball at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Wednesday. Lewis, an infielder, has been a three-year starter for the Mustang baseball team coached by Reggie Murphy.
