Mr. L.D. "Red" Casey

Mr. L.D. "Red" Casey, age 72, of Parkin, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at St. Bernard Hospital in Jonesboro.

Mr. Casey, formerly of Forrest City, was born June 29, 1929, in Alabama, was the son of J.C. Casey and Martha Jane Shaw Casey. He was a retired construction worker and a Baptist.

Mr. Casey is survived by three sons, Larry Dale Casey of Texas and Bobby Joe Casey and Steven Casey, both of Florida; a daughter, Judy Slater of Little Rock; one sister, Maeola McKay of Arley, Ala. and three brothers, C.L. Casey of West Memphis, R.E. Casey of Forrest City and C.V. "Doc" Casey of Colt.

There will be a graveside service for Mr. Casey, Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. Vance Jumper officiating. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


William Edward "Edd" Harrison IV

Mr. William Edward "Edd" Harrison, IV, age 23, of Wynne, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.

Mr. Harrison was born Jan. 25, 1978, in Forrest City, and was the son of William Edward Harrison ,III and Ruth Ann Thomas of Wynne. He had made his home in Forrest City and Wynne all of his life.

Mr. Harrison is survived by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thomas of Forrest City; his maternal great-grandmother, Ada Thomas of Forrest City; and his paternal grandfather, Bill Harrison of Forrest City.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Harrison on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Dean Davis officiating the service under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

The family request memorials be sent to the Union Avenue Baptist Church in Wynne.


Mattie Mae Hill

Mrs. Mattie Mae Hill, age 81, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City.

Mrs. Hill, born July 24, 1920, in Mississippi was the daughter of Ernest Perkins and Carrie Perkins. Mrs. Hill, a resident of Forrest City for most of her life, was retired from Reltoc. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

In 1934, Mrs. Hill married Charles Marshall "Jack" Hill and he preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hill in 1994. She is survived by six sons, William Hill, James Hill and David Hill, all of Forrest City, Charles Hill of Colorado, Jackie Hill of Tennessee and Jimmy Hill of Hot Springs; four daughters, Dorothy Smith of Illinois, Evelyn Eldridge of Forrest City, Margaret Richmond of Benton and Diane White of Batesville; a sister, Dorothy McKaskle of Malvern; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation services for Mrs. Hill will be Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.


Taylor McDaniel Sr.

Mr. Taylor McDaniel Sr., age 85, of Palestine, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at his home.

Mr. McDaniel, born Feb. 18, 1916, in Palestine, was the son of Ivory McDaniel and Ada Hardy McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Callie Mae Sanders McDaniel of Palestine; two daughters, Gerdia Adams of Palestine and Shirley Richardson of Forrest City; two sons, Taylor McDaniel Jr. of Moro and Ivory McDaniel of Forrest City; two brothers, Lester McDaniel of Palestine and James McDaniel of Forrest City; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. McDaniel will be held Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. McDaniel will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Elcannion M.B. Church with Rev. Albert McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Elcannion Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
