Mrs. Buelah Fay Lindsey "Granny" Lloyd, age 83, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.
Mrs. Lloyd, born June 3, 1918, in West Point, was the daughter of William "Bill" Lindsey and Sudie Lindsey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
In 1932, Mrs. Lloyd married Homer A. Lloyd and he preceded her in death in 1972. She was also preceded in death by a son Bill Lloyd; a daughter, Betty Webster and two grandsons.
She is survived by four sons, Walter Lloyd of North Little Rock, Bobby Lloyd of Dyersburg, Tenn., Homer Lloyd Jr. of Marked Tree and Dr. John Lloyd of Paris; three daughters, Patti Rodman of West Helena, Sue Lloyd Bishop of Forrest City and Etta Lloyd of Forrest City; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lloyd were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Dr. John Lloyd and Homer Lloyd Jr. officiating the service. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Irene Harvey Malone, age 93, of Forrest City, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Malone was born March 3, 1908, in Monroe and was the daughter of Anderson Bryant and Amy Carpenter. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Monore.
Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by a son, A.J. Harvey and two grandsons.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Merrell of Forrest City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Malone were held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in Marianna with Rev. Steve Walter officiating. Burial followed in Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna.
Mrs. Rose Mathis, age 83, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Mathis was born March 10, 1918, in Widener and was the daughter of William Lee Porter and Lillie Mae Roberts Porter. She was a Baptist and a housewife.
Mrs. Mathis was married to Jay Olan Mathis in 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by a sister, Lillie Ross of Rich-Hill, Mo.; a brother, John Ed Porter of Forrest City; two half-brothers, Thomas Porter of Pine Bluff and Danny Coleman of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; three half-sisters, Marie Reese of Benton, Linda Faulkner of White Hall and Carolyn Frank of Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mathis will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. J.E. Hughes officiating the service, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
