Mrs. Esther Ruth Donaldson, age 64, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Donaldson, born Aug. 6, 1937, in Hot Springs, was the daughter of Fred Dennis and Mary Naven Dennis. Mrs. Donaldson was a retired registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church in Palestine.
In 1958, Mrs. Donaldson married Danny Donaldson, and he survives her along with one son, Dennis Donaldson of Wynne; a daughter, Dana Totty of Bartlett, Tenn.; one brother, Fred Dennis of Hot Springs and seven grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Donaldson will be held tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Gazola Halbert, age 86, of Palestine, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Halbert, born Sept. 6, 1915, in Palestine, was the son of George Halbert and Ada Sulcer Halbert. He made his home in Palestine for all of his life. He worked with the Highway Department and was a member of the Palestine Church of Christ. Mr. Halbert was also a veteran of World War II.
In 1936 Mr. Halbert married Decima Parker and she survives him along with two sons, Wayne Halbert of Mountain View and Tom Halbert of Palestine; two daughters, Louise Jackson of Forrest City and Bettie Whittle of Palestine; a brother, Cecil Bennett Halbert of Mobile, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Halbert will be held tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Palestine Church of Christ with Bro. Carlos Pitts officiating the service. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. William Clinton Hill, age 46, of Palestine, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Bossier Parrish, La.
Mr. Hill, born Feb. 28, 1955, in Lonoke, was the son of George Hill and Mary Hill Lester. He lived in Palestine most of his life and was a pilot for Frost Flying. He was a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.
In 1988, Mr. Hill married Judy G. Jumper and she survives him along with three daughters, Ashley Hill of Collierville, Tenn., Jamie Browning of Palestine and Melissa Cook of Heber Springs; a son Phillip Browning of Memphis; his father, George Hill of Des Arc; his mother, Mary Lester of Hickory Plain; a brother Jackie Hill of Cabot; two sister, Linda Crawford of Des Arc and Pat Kerley of Jacksonville and five grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Hill will be held tonight at Twin Assembly Church of God in Palestine. Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Twin Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in Bell Cemetery under the directions of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Samuel McCrackin, age 75, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mr. McCrackin was a self employed sub-contractor and was a member of the Eastern Star Church.
He is survived by his wife, Celestine McCrackin of the home; three daughters, Norma Delores Hightower, Vernette Celestine Lewis and Yvette Ursery; a son, Darrell McCrackin; three sisters, Cora Freeman, Rebecca Lewis and Bertha McCrackin; three brothers, Clay McCrackin, Homer McCrackin and Vernon James McCrackin; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. McCrackin will be held Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at 10:45 a.m., at the Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis. Funeral services will follow, Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the Eastern Star Church with burial in Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind. under the direction of Marvin Funeral Service.
Mr. David Tobar Sr., age 65, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
Mr. Tobar, born May 22, 1936, in Rondo, was the son of Williams Tobar and Cora Wright Tobar. He was a retiree of Union Planters Bank after 36 years of service.
Mr. Tobar is survived by two daughters, Dannette Tobar of Little Rock and Gloria Stocker of Jacksonville; two sons, David Tobar Jr. and Daniel Tobar, both of Forrest City; six sisters, Lucielle Haggins, Luella Tobar, Lenora Tobar, Ethel Mae Young, and Eloise Stokes, all of Forrest City and Lenora Taylor of Memphis; eight brothers, Willie Tobar of West Helena, Lawrence Tobar, Aaron Tobar, Jerry Tobar, Sammy Tobar, Walter Tobar and Charlie Tobar, all of Forrest City and Stive Pettus of Los Angeles, Calif. and five grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Tobar will be held Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mr. Tobar will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Holly Tabernacle Church with Johnny Bean officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
