Robert Lewis Cothran

Mr. Robert Lewis Cothran, age 85, of Forrest City, died Friday, Nov. 16, at the Cedar Lodge Retirement Home in Marvell.

Mr. Cothran was born Oct. 23, 1916, and was the son of Richard Newton Cothran and Nova Herrald Cothran. He was self employed in the dry cleaning business for over 50 years and was a member of Ragland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Cothran is survived by his wife, Christine Cothran of the home; a son, John Cothran of Forrest City; two daughters, Diamond Louise Schluntz of Indiana and Betty Pauline Wolfe of Batesville; a brother, Harold Cothran of Forrest City; one sister, Frankie Wooten of Marvell; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Cothran were held today, Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert White officiating the service. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.


Margaret Dean Fogg

Mrs. Margaret Dean Fogg, age 85, of Widener, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001.

Mrs. Fogg was born on April 23, 1916, in Arkadelphia, and was the daughter of S.J. Dean and Claudia Turrentine. She lived in Widener all of her life and was active in the operations of the family farm. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of Junior Auxiliary.

Mrs. Fogg married C.C. Fogg in 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She is survived by one son, John Sid Fogg of Heth; two daughters, Shannon Busby of Marion and Chris White of Little Rock; a sister, Dorothy Dean Palmer of Widener; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fogg will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Darling officiating the service. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Otis A. Stidham

Mr. Otis A. Stidham, age 63, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Stidham was a truck driver and of the Pentecostal faith.

Mr. Stidham is survived by his wife, Bobby Taylor Stidham of the home; one daughter, Joyce Wright of Tallahassee, Fla.; four sons, Stanley Stidham and Otis Arthur Stidham Jr., both of Memphis, Steve Stidham of Corpus Christi, Texas and Earl Stidham of Chicago, Ill.; a step-daughter, Lisa Gwathney of Harrisburg; one step-son, Jessie Jones of Jackson, Tenn.; his mother, Allie Irene Stidham of Forrest City; five sisters, Lynnie Kimble and Sylvia Cleaver, both of Forrest City, Betty Barkley of Palestine, Ann Vicks of Heber Springs and Stella Blundell of West Memphis; three brothers, Travis Stidham of Wynne and Troy Stidham and Edward Stidham, both of Forrest City; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Stidham will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at 1 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis with burial following at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City, under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis.


Marlen James Williams

Mr. Marlen James Williams, age 78, of Marianna, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Mr. Williams was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Redfield, and was the son of Archie Chester Williams and Bessie Clark Williams. He was an educator, having been a coach, a teacher and a principal. Mr Williams had also been a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, AEA, NEA, Methodist Men. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marianna.

Mr. Williams was married to Eloise Payne Williams in 1953, and she survives him, along with one son, Jack Williams of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Karon Clark Fryer and Tambrey Shannahan, both of Marianna; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held for Mr. Williams today, Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Marianna, with Rev. Bennie officiating the service, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials be sent in lieu of flowers to the Methodist Youth Fund.
