Mr. Otha B. Cheers, age 20, of Heth, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Methodist Hospital-Central in Memphis.
Mr. Cheers, formerly of Earle, was born Oct. 30, 1981, in Wynne. He was the son of Otha Stevenson of Illinois who survives him along with a brother, Paul Wesley of Earle and a sister, Kimberly Stevenson, also of Earle.
Visitation services for Mr. Cheers will be held Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Beulah M.B. Church. Funeral services for Mr. Cheers will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Whole Truth Gospel Church of Faith in Earle with burial following in St. Luke Cemetery in Earle under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
Ms. Edna Mae Thompson, age 36, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001.
Ms. Thompson, born May 5, 1965, in Madison, is the daughter of Janie Mae Smith and Wiley Smith.
Ms. Thompson is survived by her mother, Janie Mae Smith, of Forrest City; a son, Randy Noble of Forrest City; two daughters, Charlotte Noble and Sherika Alexander, both of Forrest City; one brother, James L. Smith of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Edith White of Forrest City and Rachel Long of Madison and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Smith in 1970 and a sister, Lear Baker, in 2001.
Funeral services for Ms. Thompson will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Redeeming Church in Madison. Burial will follow in Madison Cemetery under the direction of Marianna Funeral Home.
