Mr. J.T. Jarrett, age 72, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
Mr. Jarrett, born May 17, 1929, in Mississippi was the son of Will S. Jarrett and Mabel Tharp Jarrett. He made his home in Palestine for all of his life and was a retired farmer.
In 1948 Mr. Jarrett married Monette Green and she survives him along with three sons, Jerry Jarrett and Donnie Jarrett, both of Palestine and Ronnie Jarrett of Caldwell; three daughters, Patricia Jumper of Palestine, Brenda Blankenship of Mt. Vernon, Texas and Cheryle Laws of Forrest City; two brothers Paul Jarrett of Galt, Miss. and Dennis Jarrett of Shaw, Miss.; two sisters, Olivia Killebrew of Gulfport, Miss. and Louise Gentry of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Jarrett will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Jarrett will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Twin Assembly Church of God in Palestine with Bro. Ed Dickerson and Bro. A.T. Blankenship officiating the service. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
