Horace Donald Lindsey

Mr. Horace Donald Lindsey, age 78, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Memphis.

Mr. Lindsey was born July 7, 1923, in Quitman, and was the son of William Simpson Lindsey and Edna Earl VunCannan Lindsey. He had made his home in Forrest City most of his life where he was retired from Eaton Corporation and was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church.

Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Ernestine P. Hess Lindsey; three daughters, Diane Lindsey of Forrest City, Doris Lindsey of Conway and Debra Frizzell of Austin, Texas; two sons, Donald W. Lindsey of Broken Arrow, Okla. and David J. Lindsey of Inola, Okla. and six grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Lindsey will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Hughes Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials be made to the St. Francis Catholic Church.


Clentis R. Oxner

Mr. Clentis R. Oxner, age 87, of Marianna, died, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Oxner, born Feb. 15, 1914, in Oak Forrest, was the son of Lazarus Enoch Oxner and Cora Ann Johnson. He was a retired employee of D&L Manufacturing in Marianna and a Methodist by faith.

Mr. Oxner was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Oxner. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Skinner of Bradford, Eugenia Boals of Rondo and Patsy Richart of Forrest City; a son, Harvey Oxner of Hot Springs; two sisters, Dorothy Pickens of Marianna and Kathryn Bosnick of Moro; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Oxner will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna. There will be a graveside funeral service for Mr. Oxner, Saturday, Dec.1, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Marianna Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Addison officiating. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna is in charge of arrangements.
