Ms. Irene Harvey Malone, 93, of Monroe, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001.
Funeral services for Ms. Malone will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna, with burial following in Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna.
Rev. William Miles Wilder, age 78, of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in a Fort Smith nursing home.
Rev. Wilder was a retired Methodist minister who was a member of the North Arkansas Conference of the Methodist Church and was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith. During his career, he served as pastor in many areas in Arkansas such as Forrest City and Wynne, was a published author and an active supporter of civil rights.
Rev. Wilder is survived by his wife, Imo Jean Walls Wilder of the home; three daughters, Rev. Mary Wilder Cartwright of Indianapolis, Ind., Jean Wilder-Ayers of Kingwood, Texas and Dr. Elizabeth Wilder of Marion, Penn.; a son, W. Michael Wilder of Burlington, NC; a sister, Lucille Wilder of Madison, Wis. and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jean Wilder.
Visitation for Rev. Wilder will be held Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at 10 a.m., at Roebuck Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home.
