SEARCY -- Both the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots and Lady Patriots play today at the Lion White County Medical Center tournament at Searcy High School, which concludes Saturday.

To reach Saturday's final round, however, both Palestine-Wheatley teams will have to post victories tonight.

Due to Wynne's participation in the Class AAAA state football championship game, set for noon Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, the Yellowjackets and the Lady Yellowjackets will not play after tonight, opting to follow their football team on Saturday.

Wynne's departure forced some time changes and pairings.

The Lady Patriots will play Pine Bluff Dollarway today at 4 p.m. A P-W win will bring the Lady Patriots back on Saturday at 12 noon to face Batesville, a winner over Wynne Thursday night. A loss to Dollarway ends the tournament stay for P-W.

The Patriots must defeat Mt. View tonight in their 5:30 p.m. game to have a chance to play Clinton Saturday at 1:30 p.m. A loss to Mt. View ends the tourney stay for Palestine-Wheatley.

In other games set for today, Jonesboro and Osceola will face off in senior girls' action at 7 p.m. and Beebe and Searcy will play in senior boys' action at 8:30 p.m.

In boys' games Thursday, Wynne defeated Clinton and PB Dollarway defeated Batesville.

In girls action, Batesville beat Wynne and Ozark defeated Searcy.
