Mamie Geneva Parker

Mrs. Mamie Geneva Parker, age 78, of Schertz, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001.

Mrs. Parker was a former LPN at the Forrest City Hospital and was a registered nurse in San Antonio, Texas before retiring at the age of 71.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Parker in 1969; her parents; a sister, Alma in 1928; a son, Harry Parker; a grandson, Thomas in 1971 and a great-grandson, Christopher in 1995.

Mrs. Parker is survived by four sons, Norman Parker of Forrest City, Kenneth Parker of Highridge, Mo., Frank Parker of Schertz, Texas and Alan Parker of Gladstone, Mo.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Parker on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at 12 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Universal City with Rev. David Lindow officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel in Pilot Knob, Mo., with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. Shertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests memorials be sent in lieu of flowers to the American Lung Association.


Ottis Robertson

Mr. Ottis Robertson, age 68, of Memphis, died Sunday, Oct.7, 2001, in Fayetteville City Hospital in Fayetteville.

Mr. Robertson was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Hilleman, and was the son of Cary Robertson and Verlon Fowler Robertson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was retried from the United States Postal Service after 26 years of service. Mr. Robertson was also a Boy Scout Troop leader for over 30 years and was an active member of Berean Baptist Church of Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Huges Robertson and a grandson.

Mr. Robertson is survived by two sons, Bill Prince and Dale Roberts, both of Fullerton, Calif.; two daughters, Debbie McNabb of Memphis and Donna Robertson of Fayetteville; a brother, Carol Robertson of Forrest City and five grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Robertson will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, from 1 to 2 p.m., in the Whitehall Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, Oct. 11, 2001, at 2 p.m., in Whitehall Cemetery, south of McCrory, with Rev. Dustin Lemke officiating the service, under the direction of Stockdale Funeral Services of Bentonville.

The family request memorials be made to the Boy Scout Troop #240, College Scholarship Fund, c/o McLemore Christian Church, 4965 Willow Rd., Memphis, Tn., 38115.
