Mr. Norah "Jack" Dawson, age 91, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Dawson, born Dec. 15, 1909 in Forrest City, was the son of Norah Dawson Sr. and Fruzzie Turner Dawson. He was an employee of Woodhouse Mortuary for 50 years where he served as a funeral attendant.
Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Parker Dawson and is survived by a sister, Mattie Fleming of Gary, Ind. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation services for Mr. Dawson will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Summerfield M.B. Church with Rev. Willie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.
Mr. Willie Lee Smith, age 67, of Earle, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Mr. Smith was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Byhalia, Miss. and was a laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith of Earle; six sons, Stanley Lee Smith of Memphis, Willie Lee Smith Jr., Elbert Smith, Freddie Smith, Charles Smith and Steve Smith, all of Earle; four daughters, Jewell Mucherson, Pearline Stevenson and Darlene Spencer, all of Earle and Susie Ann Smith of Blytheville; four brothers, John Lee Smith, George Smith and Eugene Smith Jr., all of Blackfish Lake and Willie B. Smith of Florida; five sisters, Callie Mae Smith, Cora Mae Smith, Gerlean Smith and Bobbie Mae Smith, all of Blytheville and Lillie B. Moore of East St. Louis, Ill.; and 30 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at 12 p.m., at Friendship Baptist Church with burial following in Paradise Garden Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.
