Wallace Winfred Hornbeak

Mr. Wallace Winfred Hornbeak, age 75, of Hughes, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

Mr. Hornbeak was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Ridgely, Tenn., and was the son of J.G. Hornbeak and Hattie Parson. He was a retired printer for the Commercial Appeal in Memphis and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes and an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Hornbeak is survived by his wife, Nora Hornbeak of Hughes; three sons, Larry W. Hornbeak of Forrest City, Terry B. Hornbeak of Little Rock and Lorin K. Hornbeak of Hughes; a daughter, Sandra Dilks of Marianna; a sister, Vivian Hancock of West Helena; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hornbeak will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna with Rev. Rodney Skipworth officiating the service. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.

The family requests memorials to be made to the First Baptist Church of Hughes or the Hughes Fire Department.


Evelyn Jones Trail

Mrs. Evelyn Jones Trail, age 84, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.

Mrs. Trail was born Sept. 29, 1916, in Haynes and was the daughter of John Martin Jones and Vesta Danehower Jones. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life and was a housewife and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Trail married W.J. "Bill" Trail Sr., in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 2001 along with one son, Richard F. Trail in 1984; three brothers, Martin Jones, Cecil Jones and Frank Jones and a sister, Irene Jones Parkman.

She is survived by two sons, W.J. Trail Jr., of Widener and Ray M. Trail of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, John Allen Jones of Fouke; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Trail will be Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Trail on Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Memorials are to be made to the First United Methodist Church or the First Baptist Church.
