Athletic events a go for area high schools

Forrest City, Hughes and Palestine-Wheatley will play their regular-scheduled football games and other athletic events as scheduled.

All three school districts have junior high football games scheduled for Thursday night and all three high school football teams will be travelling Friday night.

Forrest City also has a JV volleyball game scheduled to be Thursday at Wynne.

Forrest City's newly-formed cross country team's triangular meet was not run Tuesday after Jonesboro and West Memphis cancelled all after school events in the light of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon Tuesday.
