Mrs. Maude Douglas, age 91, of Memphis, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
Mrs. Douglas, born Jan. 23, 1911, in Forrest City, was the daughter of William Wurzburger and Coda Lee Rawlison Wurzburger. Mrs. Douglas, formerly of St. Francis County, had lived in Memphis for the past 20 years and was a housewife and a Baptist.
In 1929, Mrs. Douglas married John Douglas and he preceded her in death in 1972. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Byard of Memphis and Juanita Fountain of Ashville, N.C.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Douglas will be Wednesday, April 3, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Douglas will be held, Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Hopewell Cemetery in Gill under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bonnie Denman Watkins Grant, age 82, of Stuttgart, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Grant, formerly of Forrest City, was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Stuttgart. Prior to her retirement, she was a homemaker and was employed by Denmans Jewelers. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Troy Watkins Jr. and a son, Charles T. Watkins III.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Grant, of the home, four daughters, Cindy Fulenwider of Little Rock and Pam Watkins, Pat Howey and Sherry Tuminello, all of Stuttgart; a sister, Donna Gillette of Memphis; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Grant will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Grant will be held Thursday, April 4, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Lone Tree Cemetery Chapel with Rev. George Rook officiating. Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Stuttgart.
