Ms. Emma Lou Ming, 56, formerly of Lepanto and Marked Tree, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at her home in Jonesboro. Ms. Ming was a retired teacher of 34 years, a former member of the Eastern Star, active in charities and a Baptist.
Ms. Ming was preceeded in death by her father, R.M. "Buddy" Ming, her mother, Dicksie Louise Helms Ming and two brothers, Jack Ming and Jimmy Ming. She is survived by a sister, Sarah Payne of West Memphis; a brother, Jerry Ming of Marked Tree and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ms. Ming will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Roller Citizens with Brother David Applegate officiating. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree under the direction of Roller Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis. The family requests memorials be made to Boys Town, Feed the Children and the American Cancer Society.
Mr. H.R. Rich Jr., age 93, of Stuttgart, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Crestpark of Stuttgart.
Mr. Rich was born Dec. 9, 1908 in Stuttgart and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Rotary Club, various Masonic lodges and the First Christian Church.
Mr. Rich is survived by a niece Mary Rich Wirski, of Forrest City, and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Rich will be held on Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at the First Christian Church in Stuttgart at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, in Lone Tree Cemetery under the direction of Turpin Funeral Home Inc.
Mrs. Margaret Ninnie Versey, age 90, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Harris Hospital in Newport.
Mrs. Versey was born July 31, 1912 in Weldon and is survived by two nieces, Dolly Mae Griffin of Newport and Linnie Mae Jones of Little Rock.
Funeral services for Mrs. Versey will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke A.M.E. Church with Rev. E.J. Outley Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Tolerson and Sons Funeral Home of Newport.
